This is my adorable niece Monroe Maye Mendenhall. She was born on January 15th 2012. Although I didn't get to be in the delivery room like I had thought, I got some great pictures of her in the nursery and in the hospital room with her Mommy, and big Brother. If I could just do Birth Stories I think I would. I just love the emotions that you feel when looking at the pictures. I hope one day I will be able to be apart of an actual delivery to capture those moments as well. Enjoy.

Amber's Maternity Shoot-

Amber, is my beautiful sister in law. She is just as beautiful inside as she is on the outside. So when she asked me to do some maternity pictures I was so excited! She emailed me a few pictures of what she wanted and my head started thinking of what type of 'mood' I wanted to portray. I wanted to do a very soft, classy yet Comfy mood, I feel like we achieved just that.

These pictures were all done in my new in laws house! They have AMAZING light in their house all day long, and right now, since they are just in the process of moving in, the house is really a blank canvas and very easy to photograph in because there isn't a bunch of furniture or things hung on the walls yet. So thanks John & Lenna for letting us crash your house for a little while! :)

Isn't she beautiful? It really isn't fair how gorgeous she is while being pregnant! This last shot is going to be used for a 'Before & After' shot we are going to do. I am so excited about how these turned out and I am even more excited that Amber asked me to be apart of the birth of her little baby girl! I have wanted to do a 'Birth Story' for a while now, but I never wanted to invite myself into someones delivery room! ha ha So when Amber asked me to do it I was SOOOO excited! I love being able to catch the moments that you cant ever get back...the ones that evoke emotion when you see the images! So keep your eye open for those in January sometime!

Look at that good lookin' bunch! ;) These great people are my in laws! We finally got all of us together to take a family picture! It was last minuet but it worked out great! :) We will have to do another one soon though, because we are adding 2 more babies into the family next year. 1 in January and 1 in May (mine). Thanks to my Mom I was able to be in the main picture! It rarely happens that I am in front of the camera, so it was kinda weird when it was actually my camera taking the pictures and I wasn't behind it!

What a beautiful place we live in here in Utah. This is right above my in laws home and it is just beautiful this year. I'm sad because these leaves are not going to be here by this weekend...at least not all of them.

Yes I can claim all of these cute kids as 'mine' well at least one of them has my blood running through her veins, the others are my super cute nieces and nephews! So I have been trying to figure out what 'My Style' of editing is, I am not sure if I want to be soft & subtle or bright & vivid, or more rich & dreamy? ha ha I know those are all completely different styles but I am kind of in love with all 3 ways of editing. I think instead of defining my editing process as one of the above I will have to decide which style fits the best with the session. Obviously a new born isn't going to be bright & vivid and will be more soft & subtle. Anyway so I have been playing around in Photoshop today with a few new techniques and this is what I came up with...Tell me what you think!

Can I just tell you how much I LOVE photographing kids? I seriously love it! They are so fun & unpredictable! Little Payton's Birthday is next week and so of course you have to do a photo shoot when your kids turns 1 for the big party! :) Sadly the day we went out to take these it was cold & dark outside, but we got a few good ones and are going to try to do a few inside ones in a couple of weeks! Now some kids just seem to warm up to me right away and then others don't, Payton just wasn't sure about me this day so hopefully the next time I see him he will like me a little more! :) Here is a little sneak peek at Payton's one year old shoot!

Like I said....Sometimes they warm up to me fast...SOMETIMES! :)

So I am so LUCKY to be able to say that I am related to this beautiful family! This is my Husbands brother Mike, his beautiful wife Amber & their way to adorable son Nash! I just love these guys to death and I am sooooo glad to say that I am related to them! :) So here are some (a lot) of my favorites from their family session I did last week! :) I couldn't believe how Nash was just being such a little model for me! I think he was more excited for pictures then Amber was! Now Mike we had to work a little harder to get him to relax and ENJOY getting pictures taken! So Amber I hope you like them!! :)

Seriously Nash was like the BEST little kid to photograph! I am not sure if it was just because it was his Aunt Amanda or if he just knows how stinkin' cute he is....watch out for him girls, he is going to be a heart breaker for sure!!

YAY I got a 'real' Mike smile!! :)

I think this one (above) is my favorite! First because of Nash and how stinkin' adorable he is, second my awesome gold chair & third I LOVE all of the colors! Everything was perfect from the the location to the clothes they were wearing!! I think I need to hire Amber to help style clients clothing!! :) Plus she does hair so she could do that too!! :)

I can hardly believe that my 'baby' is going to be 1 in a few weeks!! Eeeek it makes me want to cry....A LOT!! It really only seems like yesterday she was born! Last Saturday I had to opportunity to do my very first Newborn session! My hubby's cousin asked me to take her best friends baby's pictures for her! I was a little reluctant because I have never done one before, but I think they turned out pretty good!! What do you think?

Susan was the one who bought him his very first Jazz jersey so we thought it was only appropriate that she get a picture with him in it!!

Okay so Nathans Daddy Tyler has a bit of a collection obsession!! I just had to take a few pictures of it!! This is not even 1/8th of what he had just in that room!! I loved it!!! My Brother and Nephew would have been in heaven if they would have seen all of his toys!

So this last month I was able to attend anther AMAZING workshop put on by Emily Clark of Winkfotos!! Seriously she is so amazing at what she does! I am so glad I was able to attend her workshop! Well I was able to attend the Blush Photography 'With Rapture' workshop back in March and can I just tell you how AMAZING it was? It was the BEST experience learning how to pose certain people, and what works and what doesn't work! It was such a fun day! Here are a few from that day!

Okay, so I have been such a slacker with this blog lately!! I have had the chance to go to attend 2 workshops and I have yet to post any of the edited pictures on here! I also had the opportunity to follow Emily Clark again for a wedding this last weekend and I need to post some pictures from there as well!! :) So those will be coming soon I hope! :)

On to some fun stuff!! I am going to be offering a Free photo shoot once my Facebook Fan page hits 200 fans!! New equipment!

So I am soooo excited to let everyone know that I have upgraded my camera.....BIG time!! I went from a Nikon D70 to a Nikon D700 full frame camera!! YAY!! I am so excited because this camera is amazing with what it can do!! The day I got my camera I pulled out one of my baby backgrounds and started taking pictures of my daughter! So here is what the new camera looks like and then a few pictures taken inside of my cute daughter Lydia!! I hope you enjoy!!

Family sessions

We will start off by doing more posed photos at first! Then after that we will get the wiggles out and just let go and have some fun! I love capturing you as a family playing around and having fun! Then we will get pictures of each individual (yes that includes you dad) and then mom & dad together! Try to wear fun bright colors that bring out each of your personalities!! Also make sure everyone has a full belly so we don't have any excuses from the kids or dad!

Weddings/brides

Relax!! This is one of the best days of your lives! Have fun, be happy and enjoy the day!! Don't stress out over little things! Go with the flow and the day will be GREAT!! For Bridal sessions I love to have props! Anything like Cowboy boots, to a baseball & bat. Anything that represents you as an individual! I love to do the cute pictures of you and your dress, but I also love to show your personality in your photos!!!

Children

I can not stress enough to keep them fed!! As well as keep it calm. If you are stressing out the kids will too! Just be your self like you would any other day of the week! Bring your kids favorite doll or blanket for those candid shots! Have them wear something they are comfortable in and will let lose in!! I love bright colors and textures for kids!!!

(One person focus, for each additional person at $15. When adding an additional person there will be 10-15 extra images)

1-2 hours of shooting

1-2 locations

20-30 retouched images

-Weddings-

(a non-refundable reservation fee is due upon booking your wedding. This fee goes towards your main package and reserves your date. The remainder of your entire package fee (including all extra package additions) are due no later than 2 weeks prior to your wedding day.

-Silver wedding package- $575

(a nonrefundable reservation fee of $150 is due upon booking your wedding)

Includes the following:

Bridal or Engagement Session

6-8 hours of coverage on wedding day

2-3 locations

Disk with all retouched images from the wedding day(Bridal or engagement session) with copyright release.

(please allow up to 3 weeks for images to be ready for pick up)

-Gold wedding package- $775

(A nonrefundable reservation fee of $250 is due upon booking your wedding)

Includes the following:

Bridal & Engagement Session

All day coverage at ceremony/temple & Reception

Disk with all retouched images(Bridal, engagement & wedding day) with copyright release.

(please allow up to 3 weeks for images to be ready for pick up)

-Bridal/Engagement Session- $250

( a nonrefundable fee of $100 is due upon booking your session. The rest is due at the time of the session)

Includes:

2-3 hours of shooting

1-2 locations

30-40 retouched images

Disk of all retouched images with copyright release
